What Is Print on Demand?
Print on Demand (POD) is a production method where a product is only manufactured after a customer places an order — instead of printing thousands of a design in advance and storing them in a warehouse, each item is printed, engraved, or assembled individually once you buy it. This is why personalized gifts (with a name, photo, or custom message) are only possible at scale through POD: no one could pre-print a warehouse of mugs for every possible name combination.

How It Works, Step by Step
- You choose a design and personalize it — enter a name, date, photo, or quote using the product's customization options.
- The order enters production — typically within 2-3 business days at draconerX.
- Your item is printed/engraved and packed — using the specific technique for that product (UV printing, DTG, laser engraving, etc. — see our UV printing vs DTG guide).
- It ships — standard shipping typically takes 5-10 business days within the US, plus 1-2 weeks for international orders.
